Welcome to North West Playwrights
- We develop and support writers for stage - and, increasingly, for other media
- We encourage people from all backgrounds in writing for performance
- We work with writers at all levels – from interested amateur to seasoned professional
- We aim to nurture emerging writers into sustainable careers
- We support established artists in exploring new areas of work and new approaches to their craft
- We work with theatre companies and other organisations on a range of collaborative projects
We provide
- a Script Reading Service
- Classes, ranging from entry-level courses to specialised masterclasses
- Workshops allowing writers to develop a script with the input of professional actors, directors and dramaturgs
- a Mentoring Scheme, matching emerging writers with established professionals
- a variety of other projects, often in collaboration with theatre companies
