Classes
provide a variety of classes, looking at all aspects of the craft and business of writing scripts.
We offer our well-established entry-level course around once every year, in different parts of the North West.
Our most recent course, Enter Stage Write, took place in Chester, in autumn 2009. The process of working with other writers was such a rewarding and productive experience that the participants have set up a regular playwriting group, FORUM SCRIPTWRITERS, based at The Forum Theatre Studio (formerly Chester Gateway).
We provide one-off masterclasses, led by prominent practitioners such as David Edgar, Tim Fountain and Kaite O'Reilly, and targeted at more experienced writers.

Tim Fountain was brilliant! I thought it was the most insightful and practical writing workshop I have ever attended. It really inspired me on a practical- how to get things on way, and an artistic- how to get things right way. The stuff about structure and creating interesting worlds was very clear and I feel I can put it into practice in the future. Paul Hine |
We also set up panel events, at which you can hear and question established practitioners.
Recent examples have included Cutting It On the Fringe at Oldham Coliseum, looking at ways you can stage your own work; and Who Needs Writers? in conjunction with Bolton Octagon, examining the issues around verbatim theatre.
If you'd like to be kept informed of NWP classes and events, sign up for regular e-newsletters.
